Multi-Touch Gestures SDK for ISVs and Developers

The Multi-Touch Gestures DuoSense® SDK package enables ISVs and developers to experience the Hands-on® effect, and allows software applications to be developed with multi-touch functionality.

This SDK supports N-trig multi-touch gesture recognition, and can be run on Windows XP and Vista.

Note: This is not the same as the gesture recognition inherent in the Windows 7 operating system.

If you are a developer and have DuoSense technology enabled on your Dell Latitude XT, XT2 or your HP TouchSmart tx2, you can download and run the SDK package.

Multi-Touch: Natural Input for a Hands-Driven Experience

The ability to manipulate data and objects directly on the computer screen is at the heart of the revolution for enabling a better human interface. True multi-touch functionalities provide a natural user interface, for personal and professional computing achievements that far exceed any previously accomplished.

Multi-Touch Gestures SDK

N-trig's SDK kit enables Software Vendors (ISVs) with a tablet PC that contains DuoSense® to add truly unique and highly competitive features to their applications.

Leveraging N-trig’s breakthrough multi-touch gestures technology, these features enable a Human UI experience that simply cannot be achieved using traditional point-and-click mouse peripherals.

Explore intuitive natural input alternatives to scrolling, panning, rotating, enlarging and reducing objects in your existing and future applications:

Zoom in/ Zoom out

A simple thumb and forefinger “pinch” movement that enables a user to enlarge objects onscreen (moving fingers away from each other) or make them smaller (move them towards each other).

This intuitive zooming function replaces the standard point-and-click functionality of a mouse and provides far greater accuracy to the user. Moreover, it empowers software developers with the ability to implement object and text enlargement/reduction in virtually any standard software application.

Panning

Scroll up and down through a document or move from page to page by panning across the screen.

This unique, multi-directional scrolling function is accomplished by moving two adjacent fingers up and down or left and right, for easy and accurate access of the data and objects you are looking for.

Rotate

Rotate objects onscreen by making simple clockwise (right) or counterclockwise (left) movements with the anchored thumb and forefinger.

This multi-touch function enables swift and accurate positioning of objects without needing to point and click repeatedly on a rotate left-right function button in order to achieve the desired effect.

Double Tap

This is a flexible new computer function that can be easily set up to suit a user’s needs.

By simply tapping the computer screen twice in quick succession with two adjacent fingers, a user can perform any of several pre-determined functions, including putting a screen into instant sleep mode or launching a preferred software program.
